HOW TO MAKE
PIZZA
Ingredients:
  • Servings: 2
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 15 to 25 minutes
  • 2 1/2 c. (450 g) flour
  • 3 tsp. (13 g) baking powder
  • 1 tsp. (6 g) salt
  • 1 tbsp. (15 ml) olive oil
  • 3/4 to 1 c. (180 to 240ml) water
 Steps:
1.Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium mixing bowl.

2. Add the warm water and the oil.

3. Stir all ingredients together until the mixture forms a ball. (Add more water if the dough becomes too stiff.)

4. Turn out the dough onto a floured cutting board. The dough should be soft, but not sticky.

5.Knead the ball of dough gently for a few minutes. Sprinkle a little flour on the dough if it is too sticky to knead.

6.Spread the dough onto a pizza pan or a flat baking sheet. Smooth out the dough so that it is uniformly even.

7. Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 15 to 25 minutes.

8.Remove pizza from oven and add desired toppings.

Tips:

  • You can bake the dough for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and add cheese and sauce. Return the dough to the oven to bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
  • Try spreading olive oil or melted butter on the dough and sprinkling it with garlic salt before you bake it.
  • If you don’t have baking powder, you can substitute baking soda—use half the amount and omit the salt.
Warnings:
  • Check on the dough after it has been baking for 10 minutes. Thinly spread dough will cook faster and get crustier.
 Things You’ll Need:
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Pizza or flat baking sheet
